About
1944 D-Day Operation Overlord is a World War II combat simulation game being developed by Frantic Games.
1944 D-Day Operation Overlord endeavors to tell the story of Operation Overlord and deliver an accurate simulation of the battle by using squad based tactics with realistic weapons and vehicles.
“1944 D-Day Operation Overlord is the simulation of an event. It does not strive to tell the story of one unit or one squad. Instead it endeavors to tell the story of the battle. The game at its core is driven by a revolutionary AI system; this AI system controls over 250,000 units in real-time, moving them around the battlefield and adapting their orders and objectives and tasks to an ever evolving battlefield.”
As the player, the game is in a player’s control. They have the ability to choose from any unit in the battlefield. The game will give the player the ability to be able to use every vehicle that was used on D-Day, from tanks and planes to bicycles. They can also use every weapon that was available at the time too. By choosing a person on the battlefield to take control of, the player takes their job too, so they could be a commander, a fighter pilot, a war photographer, or even a priest.

Great web site, gives proof that work is going on behind the scenes. Ronan is the public face of the dev team and other who are in the “background” are getting their share of 15 minutes in the sun right here. Nice.
